Videos

I worked as a multimedia journalist with The Newsroom at UTRGV, which is part of the university marketing & communications department. After a few years of mostly recording video on my phone or a point-and-shoot camera, the job let me return to using a dedicated video camera.

As an Instructional Designer I at TSTC, I got more video equipment for recordings. But with my promotion to Instructional Designer II, I worked less on video production and transferred my video equipment to my IDI replacement. But I like making videos, so I still use my phone, a point-and-shoot camera, and a DJI Osmo Pocket 2 for quick projects. This year, I decided to make short videos related to instructional design for my RGVLearner.com blog.

I have an associate's degree in Radio-TV-Film technology. I was trained to edit on an Avid, but I usually use Adobe Premiere Pro. When needed, I also edit on a mobile phone with apps like Adobe Premiere Rush or iMovie. My previous television production experience also includes working as a television production technician at a school district cable station, during the first two years of its launch.
