I have managed social media accounts for KRGV CHANNEL 5 NEWS, The Newsroom at UTRGV, South Padre Island Marathon, and Our Lady of the Assumption. I've created videos and graphics for the accounts, in addition to weekly analytic reports.
When my job at KRGV was expanding to include social media, I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing. I searched and found the only online master's degree program for internet (now digital) marketing at the time, which was at Full Sail University. I enrolled and completed my master's degree the following year. When I started working on the KRGV Facebook account, there were a few thousand likes. When I left the station, the page reached around 250,000 likes.
I've helped accounts reach and surpass social media goals on multiple occasions. While at UTRGV, I created the UTRGVwriter Twitter account. About 600 followers may not break any records, but the engagement helped my job as a multimedia journalist by creating very useful connections, which lead to several stories.
In my new role in instructional design, I have no social media job duties; however, I am building my network on my LinkedIn profile in hopes of continuing to make helpful connections and find professional development resources.

Social Media Gallery ExampleFor Fall 2019, I collected photos of university faculty and administrators to create a gallery called UTRGV Freshman Flashback. I asked the Creative Services team for a header image to create a consistent look and shared the images on Facebook and Twitter on the first day of fall classes.
