Social Media

I have managed social media accounts for KRGV CHANNEL 5 NEWS, The Newsroom at UTRGV, South Padre Island Marathon and Our Lady of the Assumption. I've created videos and graphics for the accounts, in addition to weekly analytic reports.

When my job at KRGV was expanding to include social media, I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing. I searched and found the only online master's degree program for internet (now digital) marketing at the time, which was at Full Sail University. I enrolled and completed my master's degree the following year.

I've helped accounts reach and surpass social media goals on multiple occasions. As I now work with a team updating one account, I have a personal (ish) work account. You can follow me on Twitter and Instagram, where I post as utrgvwriter.

Social Media Gallery Example

For Fall 2019, I collected photos of university faculty and administrators to create a gallery called UTRGV Freshman Flashback. I asked the Creative Services team for a header image to create a consistent look and shared the images on Facebook and Twitter on the first day of fall classes.
